It’s been 2 weeks since we’ve kicked off the July Lean Body Challenge, and so far this group has been the most active and liveliest on the FB group. It’s been so much fun seeing people post pictures, share recipes, leave funny comments and just support each other throughout the Challenge.
We all seem to have this fascination with taking pictures of our food and posting it all over the internet (I’m a top offender), and I have a hunch it has a lot to do with the fact that food is meant to be enjoyed, and that there is an underlying connection between, food, sex and pleasure. It’s no wonder that we’ve nicknamed this photographic fetish as “food porn”.
Nonetheless, I figured I would share with you some of the meal and snack ideas that have been shared by our LBC participants, and some of my current private coaching clients to give you an idea of how you can plan and prepare meals.
Cheese and Fruit – by Jess M.
Notice the vibrant colors and juicy texture of the fruit, coupled with the strong, crumbly parmeseano reggiano cheese. You’ll have to put the kids to sleep before this one.
Old Skool Bacon and Eggs – by Hannah H.
Uumm…nothing like greasy nitrate-free bacon paired with pan-fried pasture-raised eggs to start your morning right. But, don’t blame us if you’re late for work.
Thirst Quenching Watermelon Juice – by Naomi K.
Sweet cravings? We all get them. Just a little sumthin’ sumthin’ that’s gonna hit the right spot. Blend up some fresh fruit for those quick cravings.
Cucumber Sammies – by Jenn R.
Two can be better than one, and getting sandwhiched can be fun, especially if it involves smoked salmon.
Portabella Chicken Caps by Jenn R.
If you like things a bit on the meatier side, and looking for something to fill you up, cap off some portabella mushrooms with ground chicken and herbs. You know what they say, once you go….
OJ and Eggs by Stefanie T.
Wake up in the morning with runny-eggs served with a nice, thick slab of Canadian bacon, and top it off with some freshly squeezed, orange juice to replenish those glycogen stores from the night before.
Fish with Root Veggies and Fruit by Kaitee T.
When you just can’t decide, why not have it all. Keep an open mind and load your plate with a poly-mixture of food. This party, everyone’s invited, root veggies, fruit, and even a little bit of greens.

Haha! Love the soundtrack. I am a little in love with my food now, hence the multitude of pictures.
